Rafael Bergamaschi

Rafael Bergamaschi is a Brazilian filmmaker whose work draws from Cinéma Vérité's tradition.

His short film "Avalanche Bob", about the yodeling-punk pioneer Robert Cribbie, premiered at Clermont-Ferrand International Film Festival and screened at DOC NYC. His first film, the medium-length “Liturgy of Pleasure”, was praised for its intimate portrait of the BDSM community of São Paulo, Brazil. His editing credits include "Tu Me Manques", starring Oscar Martínez and Rossy de Palma,
 and Revolution Rent, a feature documentary about U.S. Cuba relations through the making of a broadway musical in Havana (HBO premiere).
 

Rafael holds a Journalism degree from Faculdade Cásper Líbero, in São Paulo, and completed graduate studies in Documentary Film at The New School, in New York.
